Thursday, April 12th marks the beginning of the 13th annual Wharton Welcome Weekend for the admitted students and partners of the Class of 2009. Over 600 new admits and partners will join us in Huntsman Hall for their first taste of the unique and vibrant community that makes us Wharton. Originally conceived by the Dean's Graduate Student Advisory Board in 1994, Wharton Welcome Weekend has become the largest and most important MBA Admissions event of the year.

Do you recall the first time you met your future classmates? Do you remember playing ice-breakers for the first time (definitely not to be the last)? Sitting through academic overviews and financial aid overviews? No? Then probably you better remember downing pints of Guinness at Irish Pub or partying to the beat of Brazilian Bateria at Transit. Those memories and more were what drew us to this enormous assignment of co-chairing this great event. We had such a blast that we wanted to ensure that future generations of Wharton admits would have as much fun as we did.

This year's WWW is bigger and better than ever. We've planned a non-stop tour de force showcasing the multitude of possibilities that the Wharton experience offers and the 125 years of tradition, achievement and success that a Wharton degree stands for. Our busy weekend will include leadership activities, mock classes, small group dinners, student panels, career chats, a club expo, as well as performances by Follies, WICS, and Dance Studio and much, much more! For a complete schedule of activities, please visit our web site at http://clubs.wharton.upenn.edu/welcome/.

It's very important to point out that we could never have done all this preparation on our own, therefore we would like to thank everyone who has been involved in organizing WWW 2007, especially our dedicated and enthusiastic WWW Organizing Committee Chairs, Carol Chu, Thomas Caleel, the MBA Admissions Office, the MBA Program Office, the WGA Executive Board, the faculty, and of course, our invaluable student and administration volunteers. Without you all, we could never have come this far.

We hope that everyone will come out and join us for the Weekend's events, be it at the Wharton MBA Pub, the Club Expo and Center City Pub Crawl on Friday, or at the WHALASA/Europa! bash on Saturday night at Zee Bar. But most of all, we encourage everyone to take the time to share your experiences over the past months or years with the admits. Your opinions are a valuable resource in their decision process. Remember, it was only a year (or two) ago that we stood in front of Huntsman Hall thinking how convenient to have two Au Bon Pain's in one building! Let the admits know the real Wharton, the one that makes you and me proud to be part of this unique community.

Join us in welcoming the Class of 2009 at Wharton Welcome Weekend 2007!
