Europa! welcomes new Board

It is an exciting time for Europa!: the new Co-Presidents were elected just before the Wharton crowd departed for Leadership Ventures, amazing trips to Japan and Egypt or tanning on the Costa Rica shores.
The E-Team, as they named themselves during the election campaign, is a group of diverse, highly committed first-year students with a very interesting plan for the club. Guillaume Bourcier, the blond Frenchman and former football player with his solid accent Parisien, is the former VP of Marketing for Europa! and organizer of the Beaujolais Dinner, which we all remember for the wide selection of cheese, saucisson and wine from his country.
Enric "The Spaniard" Casals Brufau, the karate champion, bull-fighter and latin-lover, is the former Social VP for the club and is still remembered for his contributions to the Ibiza Party. Anna "The Russian" Dayn, imported to the US from the former Soviet Union at the age of 9, is the former VP of Sponsorship for Europa! as well as social chair for Cohort L. Last but not least, Guillaume "The Belgian" van Rijckevorsel, a spectacular sponsor of diversity at Wharton during pre-term and big fan of Belgian chocolate and beer, is an active member and leader in WIVP and the Energy Club..
The election program was heavily biased toward social activities, but did not leave out a wide array of community and career management initiatives. Among the tons of interesting activities planned for the near future, a few are worth underlining.
"Continue to throw the hottest parties at Wharton" ranks high up in the commitment list, along with the International Food Festival, liaising with European schools and exchange students, building relationships with European recruiters and alumni, and planning a Europa! weekend getaway in a warm climate.
The handover ceremony, which officially transferred duties and responsibility to the E-Team, took place at Cafè Habana on February 7th and, as usual, was characterized by cross-cultural jokes, solid drinking and the jovial environment of every Europa! event. New VPs of Social, Cultural, PR, Marketing, Recruiting, Alumni and so forth have been appointed, after taking a hard look at every applicant's background and capabilities, but without forgetting social skills and party-attitude.
The new Board includes Emil Eminov, Grant Nachman, Vernon Tjon Soei Len and Andrea Chang as Social VPs, Edouard Derom as Cultural VP, Tracie Neuhaus and Alberto Pierotti as Public Relations VPs, Serban Suvagau as Conferences and Speaker Series VP, Eugene Belashchenko and Geoffroy Descamps as Admissions VPs, Humera Afzal, Antonio Alfonso and Alexander Klimenko as Career VP's, Manel Oliva-Trastoy as Alumni VP, Sol Anitua as Sponsorships VP, Sophie Anderson as Marketing VP and Alex Gitnik as Social and Communications VP.
A special thank you goes to the former Europa! leadership team, the recently appointed Board and all Europa! members. Let me also wish the new the Co-Presidents of the Club the best of luck for their tenure. Exciting times ahead!
