We are honored and humbled to be elected your Executive Board of the WGA. This is a responsibility we will not take lightly. For both the Class of 2008 and the Class of 2007, our time at Wharton has been filled with change and it is more important than ever to speak with the power of one voice for one community. We promise to move Wharton Forward by enabling our vibrant community to thrive.

Wharton is unique in its high level of student involvement. Our student body is its own independent organization which enables over a hundred diverse clubs and conferences to exist and take place. While the WGA is not perfect, it is a tremendous asset that allows students to enter Wharton and craft their own MBA experience. Our team's mission is to enhance students' ability to realize their own personal MBA aspirations and create a more cohesive community. We will accomplish our mission by focusing on strengthening the MBA community, further projecting the student voice, and modernizing the WGA. It is an ambitious plan, but one that we believe that will make the WGA, and therefore the student body, stronger than ever.

In the coming week, the Executive Board will be reaching out to the student body in order to fill the WGA's Executive Council. The Council is the most important body central to WGA's operations and decisions. We are committed to crafting a council with the strongest individuals representing the diverse perspectives and backgrounds that make our student body so vibrant. An effective Executive Council relies upon drawing on many different viewpoints and approaches to arrive at decisions that truly reflect the best interest of the student body. We ask that, if interested, you consider a role on the Council. We will be holding an information session on Tuesday, February 20th at 12 noon for all those interested (see Spike for room).

We thank the "One Wharton" team for their dedication to Wharton and look forward to working together with them in shaping our collective experience at Wharton. We urge every student to congratulate them on their campaign.

We also thank Hassan El-Houry, Nisha Thomas, Steve Fanning and Josh Feinberg for their service to the community and their commitment to creating a stronger WGA. We, the student body, have been the beneficiaries of their remarkable amount of hard work, dedication, and tenacity over the past year. We have an extremely high expectation to meet, with Hassan, Nisha, Steve and Josh setting that bar so high.

The future for our school is promising even with the setbacks that have occurred over the past two years and other issues that are on the horizon. Yet the opportunity is there to fortify the WGA and our student community - its voice, its vision, and its structure. There is much work to do, but even greater benefits to be derived. We continue to ask for your support, thoughts, and criticisms as we embark on this mission. Let us all come together to make this institution all that it can be.
