"I think the key issue for people to understand is that students are not helpless - we hold a great deal of power to determine what happens. If people don't want to disclose their grades, that's OK, and they shouldn't feel forced into having to disclose them. The indications from employers are that grades aren't going to be a big issue for them unless students choose to bring it up. If we want a culture of GND then we secure that through the decisions we make about disclosing our grades. If we want a culture of co-operation and support then we achieve it by helping our classmates and rewarding that type of behavior. And if we want to demonstrate that there can be a culture of learning and academic achievement without grades being used to inspire fear, then we show that through how we act inside and outside the classroom."
