The WGA Executive Council held elections for its first year Member-at-Large positions on Wednesday 4th October 2006
The meeting commenced at 7:30am with Hassan El-Houry presiding. Cohort representatives of the Class of 2008 were present for the elections.
First year members-at-large represent their class during Executive Council deliberations and in addition, help provide continuity for WGA initiatives. Members of the Class of 2008 are encouraged to reach out to the individuals that have taken on the challenge and responsibility of being their spokespersons. The newly elected officials are:
Jonathan Dahlke - Information Technology
Neal Mueller - Secretary
William Jarvis - WGA Store
Jay Dearborn - Assistant Treasurer
Rami Elghandour - Continuity Planning
Following the elections, current Executive Council members provided updates on their activities to date and programs in place for the rest of the year. These updates are to be completed at the council meeting scheduled for Wednesday 11th October and serve as a means of ensuring that the council is on course to deliver on its mandate from the student body.
General administrative issues addressed at the meeting included a request for a change in Crew Team bylaws (motion approved) and a request for sponsorship from the Energy Club (alternative funding sources recommended).
WGA Executive Board Office Hours held at Mad 4 Mex
The WGA Executive Board commenced weekly office hours on Thursday 21st September 2006. Office hours provide an opportunity for students to give feedback to the board. They also serve as a forum for students to air their concerns or suggest solutions that bring about improvements on campus. Please take full advantage of this opportunity and join the board in the MBA Program office on Thursdays between 3 and 5pm.
Last Thursday's office hours were held at Mad Mex on Walnut Street to provide a less formal avenue for interaction and allow participation of the full Executive Council. Free beer was provided for early attendees. All changes in venue will be announced prior to the day.
The board is also working to get faculty attendance at some sessions in the future.
